Special performance by Missy Higgins
Fresh off the back of opening for Ed Sheeran during his Australian tour, beloved singer-songwriter Missy Higgins and her band will entertain the crowd pre-game. The nine-time ARIA Award winner will perform crowd favourite Scar and current hit single Futon Couch from Missy’s long-awaited fifth studio album Solstalgia which is set for release April 27.
What to expect
There’s nothing like a Grand Final. The win is so close, and the nerves and energy are at an all-time high. The day kicks off with Aussie artist Missy Higgins performing, both teams warming up and the national anthem performed on field, all before the game begins! Expect to see lots of red, blue and white and maroon, yellow and blue team colours in the crowd.
Once the starts expect a fast paced, fierce game of AFLW, with four quarters going for 15 minutes. At half time, the NAB AFL Auskickers will play exhibition Auskick matches.
After the final siren and the Grand Final win, the Best on Ground and Premiership medals will be presented to the premiers, along with the coveted NAB AFLW Premiership Cup! The winning team will sing their team song on the ground and do a lap of honour.
What to bring
Wear team colours to show who you’re supporting, and a hat and an umbrella – it’s Melbourne, so you never know what the weather might do! Bring your AFLW team membership card if you’re an AFLW member of Western Bulldogs or Brisbane Lions. There will be lots of food and drink options available at the venue.
