Blues, Lions midfielders earn Rising Star nominations

TWO MIDFIELDERS playing in the same match – Carlton's Georgia Gee and Brisbane's Jacqui Yorston – are the round six NAB AFL Women’s Rising Star nominees.

Gee is in her second year of AFLW, having been selected by the Blues with pick 12 in the 2017 NAB AFLW Draft from Beaconsfield JFC and the Dandenong Stingrays.

The lightly framed 19-year-old has grown in confidence as the season has progressed since breaking into the side in round two, averaging 11 disposals (up from six in 2018).
