2019 best and fairest: Monique Conti

2019 in a nutshell: The Bulldogs were the only side to beat the Crows in 2019. It was by a point as the Crows kicked 1.11 compared to 2.6 from the Bulldogs. From there it was all downhill. The Dogs lost their last five games, then lost Monique Conti, Katie Brennan, Libby Birch and Tiana Ernst to trades and expansion signings.

New players: Elisabeth Georgiostathis, Isabella Grant, Ashley Guest, Britnet Gutknecht, Gemma Lagioia, Nell Morris-Dalton, Gabby Newton, Amelia Van Oosterwijck

Notable departures: Kate Bartlett, Libby Birch, Tessa Boyd, Katie Brennan, Monique Conti, Jessie Davies, Tiarna Ernst, Selena Karlson, Emma Mackie, Belinda Smith

Inactive players: Aisling Utri

2020 opponents: St Kilda (a), Melbourne (h), Carlton (h), West Coast (a), Collingwood (a), Fremantle (h), North Melbourne (a), GWS Giants (h)

Circle it: Gabby Newton v St Kilda's Georgia Patrikios should be an exciting battle as two young midfielders make their debut in round one.

Player to watch: Elisabeth Georgiostathis has some serious pace and will be one of the most exciting young pups to keep an eye on next year.

Best Rising Star chance: Gabby Newton

2020 prediction: 2020 will not be about wins and losses for the rebuilding Bulldogs. Getting game time into their four top-10 picks will be the main goal, as well as hopefully remaining competitive with Ellie Blackburn and Issy Huntington providing some star power.
