Match Review: Roo rubbed out, Bowers charged

The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review of Round Five of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition has been completed. Three charges were laid.

Charges Laid:
Kiara Bowers, Fremantle, has been charged with Tripping (Fixed Financial Sanction) Jessica Wuetschner, Brisbane Lions, during the fourth quarter of the Round Five match between Fremantle and the Brisbane Lions, played at Fremantle Oval on Saturday February 27.

In summary, she can accept a reprimand with an early plea.

A first offence for Tripping (Fixed Financial Sanction) is a $400 sanction. An early plea enables the player to accept a reprimand.

Vivien Saad, North Melbourne, has been charged with Forceful Front-On Contact against Tayla Harris, Carlton, during the second quarter of the Round Five match between North Melbourne and Carlton, played at University of Tasmania Stadium on Saturday February 27.

In summary she can accept a one match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, Medium Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a one-match sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a one match sanction with an early plea. 

Lucy Single, Gold Coast SUNS, has been charged with Forceful Front-On Contact against Alicia Janz, West Coast Eagles, during the fourth quarter of the Round Five match between the West Coast Eagles and the Gold Coast SUNS, played at Mineral Resources Park on Sunday February 28.

In summary, she can accept a reprimand with an early plea.
