Eagles fly high in dominant win over hapless Cats

WEST Coast forward Imahra Cameron has produced a magical second quarter to lead her side to a crushing 39-point AFLW win over Geelong in Perth.

Cameron booted three goals in the space of six minutes during a second-quarter blitz to set up the 8.5 (53) to 2.2 (14) win at Mineral Resources Park on Monday.

Cameron finished with three goals from six disposals, while Irish sisters Grace Kelly and Niamh Kelly kicked two goals apiece and created numerous other attacking forays.

Grace Kelly limped off with what looked like a groin injury after booting her second goal of the match in the final quarter.

Niamh Kelly and Grace Kelly continue their hot form, this time combining in front of goal to pile on more misery for the Cats

Geelong were best served by Amy McDonald, with the star midfielder tallying 24 possessions, nine clearances and a goal.

Eagles skipper Emma Swanson faces a nervous wait for her heavy shepherd in the dying minutes that sent Georgie Rankin crashing to the turf.

Rankin lay dazed on the ground for more than a minute before being helped off.

West Coast dominated the opening term, but their wayward kicking meant they came away with just four behinds to their name.

Two of those were touched just before the line, while they had another two shots that didn't even register a score.

Cameron turned the match on its head in the second quarter with a series of dazzling moments.

West Coast's Imahra Cameron is on fire, showing off her brilliant forward craft to notch three consecutive goals

She booted her first goal courtesy of a mark at the top of the goalsquare, while her second came when she ran on to a loose ball and snapped truly from 35m out.

The destruction was complete when she took a big pack mark and duly converted from 30m out, with West Coast heading to half-time with a dominant 28-1 buffer.

Geelong's first goal of the match didn't come until the dying seconds of the third quarter, when McDonald twisted and turned out of trouble to kick a spectacular goal.

But the scoreline was already 40-1 when she kicked that goal, with the match out of reach.
